The district office has received several calls asking us what the results of the elections and bylaw issues were at the 2009 District Convention in Dayton, Ohio. For the first time this year, our delegates used electronic "audience response" units to vote on contested issues. No candidates ran in contested elections this year, so the units were only used for our three bylaw issues. Results of our elections were as follows: District Governor:    Donald E. Parker of the Hilliard Kiwanis Club Governor Elect:       John E. DeVilbiss of the West Alexandria Kiwanis Club District Teasurer:    Ray Patterson of the Maumee Kiwanis Club Finance & Structure Committee:            Barb Smith of the Western Mahoning County Kiwanis Club                            Bill Pees of the Kettering-Centerville Kiwanis Club Bylaw Issue #1 (To remove mandated set asides from District Dues for Conventions and District Magazine)    Approved by vote of 252 for and 9 against Bylaw Issue #2 (To increase District Dues from $18.00 to $26.00) Approved by vote of 230 for and 34 against Bylaw Issue #3 (To modify the makeup of the Executive Committee and Finance & Structure Committee)    Approved by vote of 258 for and 7 against Thanks for all of you who attended our district convention.
