August, 2007 Dear Fellow Kiwanians, Let me take just a moment to thank all of you for your participation this Kiwanis year in the First Gentleman’s project, the seven Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in Ohio. Your support of the children has been most appreciated. What the CMN hospitals do for the smallest of the small is a combination of science, medicine and a lot of love and help. That brings me to the crux of this letter today. We have only about six more weeks to really make a difference in the lives of children through the CMN project. Many of you and your clubs have made great strides, but in some cases, Kiwanians being the procrastinators they are, your participation is still needed. Have you considered giving a PIP (Past International President’s) award to a deserving Lt. Governor, club officer, division chair or perhaps even to your husband, wife or significant other? The cost is only $500, with half of that money going to help our CMN hospitals and the other half going to our own Ohio District Foundation. We still need 20 PIP’s to meet our goal this year. Or perhaps you would simply like to make a year-end donation from your club to help your local CMN hospital. In either case, your donations will be greatly appreciated, and certain to be counted in our year end check presentations to the hospitals. Please make all donations through use of the form attached; otherwise, Kiwanis will not get credit for your great work. The children of Ohio and I thank you!
